Hello, I have a '95 Trooper and I was wondering if a 285 spare tire on the stock 5 spoke will still allow me to use the rear door handle? Has anyone done this with say...M/T R's or BFG's??? Not that I am planning anything <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" /> TIA

On my '99 there is enough room to use the handle, but not enough room to access the lock. I'm not sure how different the back end is, but I would guess not much.

Thanks for the info. You are right, there is nothing different about the 95/99 rear doors.

I have a 33-12.50 on the back of my trooper and I can still get to the handle and lock. Only thing is the door is a lot heavier now.

One thing you could do is space it out a bit with some washers and maybe gain enough clearnce to make it a bit more useable. I had to do this for my Passport with the 285/75/16 so I can pop my back glass up.

I'm running 295/75/16 on stock rims and I can just use the handle, can't even get the key in the lock. Mark
