Getting the Wheeling Fever
Can you guys point me to the thread on installing an electric fuel pump on a Gen I? I have a Carter 4070 and I am not sure about the wiring. I feel pretty good about the fuel line part, but would love to hear anything that you "experts" (it seems that some of you have done just about everything that there is to do on one of these things)might have to offer.

I'd use a 12v relay powered off the battery and triggered off the ignition to power the pump, and I'd use fairly hefty wire, like 12ga for the main power path, and 16ga for the relay trigger. Run the ground to the chassis near the pump, which should be AT the tank, and not too far above fuel level. Electrics are poor suckers. I'd also use a fuel pressure regulator with a fuel return line. You already have the fuel supply and return lines plumbed in the truck, and since you're running the weber, I don't think you need to split the fuel supply line to the carb like the Mikuni does.
