Welcome to the board.

The short answer to your question is that only the Isuzu 3.2 and 3.5 engines will be a simple swap. Anything else is going to require effort and fabrication.

To get a better understanding of what you're looking for though, what do you mean when you say "worthwhile"? These engines are generally pretty stout and functional. What are you looking for out of your powerplant?

hey james,
well i guess im slowly learning how to build a decent mud rig. my 3.2 is really gutless it seems to have absolutly no sackwhen it come time to ling some mud. it has like i said a 3.2 v6, auto tranny, i have a complete parts truck with a 5speed. i swaped out front and rear diffs from a 3:56 to a 4:10 i was told this would make the difference. i run 31-11.5-15 interco ltbs. even i two wheel drive it just dont want to turn fast enough to keep treds cleaned out. ive done tranny service,k&n filter, tune up (ngk plugs)...ive tried it all......still no sack. i would like a 4.6 or better. i would do a 3.5 but, the oil problem to the #1 cylinder is not so great... i am sort of limited to equipment. i do have a welder cutters, sorta basic machine tools. so is what im trying to say when i said WORTHWHILE was that i would like a reliable engine with some nut to it,rugged, and that will take the least fabracating. i can do the work and get equipment.

thanx for your reply,
