I suppose I should insert a responsible comment about the above mentioned. It's hard for me to think responsible on my lunch break when i replied earlier. Anyway, i neither encourage nor endorse any ideas of applying darker than legal window films to your vehicle, especially the two fronts. Admittedly a couple years ago, I stripped my tint and re-applied 15% because the other was too dark. i suppose you eventually outgrow it. Also, as a side note, some states are specific to the front limit either being a total (combined) percentage or the applied percentage. The difference being when you combine the aftermarket film percentage to the glass, the COMBINED percentage will be just a bit less. I.E. applying a 20% film to a factory (slightly tinted) glass would give a combined percentage of something like 18.5%. This is just an example. I know that here in KY the fronts are only allowed to be a COMBINED percentage of 35%. Some states also have a reflectivity law, saying that the reflective qualities (mirror tint) can only reach a certain limit, if any at all. And one last thing, some states still consider "excessive window tint" a secondary offense. This means they can only write you up if they pull you over for something else. Within the last few years, here in KY, they made both the seatbelt law and the "excessive tint" law primary offenses. Meaning they can now pull you over if they notice either one of them, here in KY that is.
