I've gotten good wear and all around use from a set of 31"x10.5 15" Dunlop Mud Terrain tires on my 1st gen 4Runner. Paid $109 each through Discount tire. They matched Tire Racks online price and includeded a full replacement warranty including sidewall damage. They work great in mud and snow,(I air down to 22 psi) highway noise is minimal compared to other MT's I've tried. My Dick Cepek Mt's were really loud, the Mickey Thompsons MT's wore really fast on pavement.
At 20K I've still got deep tread and only gotton 1 flat due to a 3" long stainless screw impaling itself on my tire, Discount fixed it for free with an internal patch.
After I get the Jeep lifted I'm planning on buying another set of the same tire. Total with mount and balance was under $500.
