Either IFS or S.A?

I know that rear shafts have been known to break or bend, but how about the front spindles?

Not the CV joints but the part that sticks outboard from the knuckle that the hub rides on.

To me the metal on the spindles seems on the thin side...like it could be much beefer considering the load the spindles have to take.

I know one guy who hit a bump hard enough to crack the steering knuckle on his '85 pickup but the spindle was still OK, not even bent. Might seem rather thin, but the shape comes into play as far as how strong it is.
