Have the true "mini pickups" disppeared in the last 10 years? What's out there?
Tacomas are big now, Nissans are smaller, but they are so ugly and plastic, I don't know if I could stand one. Has there been a true Mitsubishi or Mazda small pickup in the last 10 years? They're just Dodge or Fords now.
Maybe a Subaru Baja, but they're expensive and real tiny. Ridgelines are interesting, dorky and expensive but interesting concept.

Everybody wanted bigger and better it seems, the s10 was the last of what I would call a mini pickup..maybe the cheaper ford rangers too. Even yota has a bigger and badder tacoma now, much bigger infact that the older ones and the pickups.
Only option is to buy a used old one, they just dont make them.

I've been keeping my out for what smaller trucks are on the road. Anyone ever have a Tacoma or Frontier? What's the suspension ride like?
The 2000 Frontier Crew Cab looks interesting, and still has the chrome grille, but the bed is very small. I don't haul much large stuff except for the occasional 4x8 sheet or 8' lumber.
The tiny Tacoma standard cab short bed is cute, but may be just tooo small. I may have to deal with a few used car salesmen to try them out.

I've had lots of tacomas and an xterra wich would probably be similar to frontier -- I think they ride fine but in real bumpy areas you know they are short wheel base they kinda have that hop out from under you feel. I've also found that a goo set of shocks really reduces it.

Yeah, IF I decide to go smaller. Still a big IF. I'll have to see somethng that moves me and is cheap enough.
