Thanks all for the comments and compliments. There are some amazing places out west and I was very fortunate to meet up with good weather, good people and no mechanical issues on this trip.

I'm using an Olympus 4.0 digital camera. I know there are newer models with high megapixles but its taken me two years to get used to this one. I have nearly completely converted to digital, I didn't even take my film camera on this trip.

Taking a big trip like this with kids would be a much bigger task. I'll try it again next summer with mine.

The most important thing to do before a big trip IMO, is make sure your truck is in top running shape. Not having to worry about that really takes a lot of pressure off your mind. Take half the clothes and twice the money you think you'll need. Check the websites of towns you plan to pass through, to see if they have any festivals, parks, museums, etc. to break up the driving time. Start looking for a campsite by 5PM. Sometimes they fill up quickly and early. Being flexible when plans don't work out is really important. Have a back up plan and know that usually the most memorable stuff, wasn't planned.

I've been in Lander almost 5 years. I'm working with fellow T100 board member and Lander resident Brian McCoy, on a personal website to feature some of my trips and more pics. When that's done I'll put up a link here.

Thanks again for looking! - <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

Hey Creeper,
What kind of mileage did you get on that trip? I use my 94 extra cab 4x4 pick up for the exact same kind of trips as you described.
I've been thinking of going to a T100 with a Fourwheel camper as my wife, 4 year old and I are getting a bit cramped. Is that the Eagle model?

Thanks,
Steve

With the camper on the truck I'm averaging about 17 mpg. Without it, it's closer to 19 mpg wi the highest being 21 mpg.

Yup the Eagle model. Their Hawk model will also fit on a T100, but it's a little wider. I went with the Eagle because it fits flush to the bedsides. I went with this set up for go-anywhere capability and the same reason you mentioned - camping with the wee ones.
