 Electric radiator fan

Well this weekend I am removing the entire mechanical fan assembly and electric AC Fan assembly. I am replacing it with a 16" 2750 CFM electric puller fan controlled by a Spal FAN-PWM controller. The Spal controller allows me to use the oem temp sensor and has an input for AC control, and the unit is varable speed.
I plan to mount the new fan in the OEM shroud.
This whole set up was purchased new on ebay for $131.45 delivered.

okay, good luck. btw, i'm from oklahoma originally, antlers to be exact. good to see someone else from the Sooner State.
p.s. Antlers is in the south east corner of oklahoma, south on the turnpike from tulsa. just in case you never heard of it.

Take pictures too. I may upgrade mine to a larger fan if I run into hi heat conditions. you may have some gap between the sroud and the fan see how you will mount it...
Need some additional info on the controler if you have....
The pickup from the temp sensor has some dissadvantages for you to consider...

I plan to fill the gap between the fan and the shroud with eather foam or some other suitable material.
There is no dissadvantage to using the oem temp sensor. The Spal controller uses the OBDII sensor, and it has controlls so you can set the tempature where the fan comes on at 50% speed and the high point where it increases to 100% speed. The Spall also allows you to controll a second fan when it switches to hi-speed.
The Spal controller also has a sens lead for inginition, and with the AC sens input connected the fan runs a 100% when the AC is operating.

How come I never hear about anyone using a larger fan? I put an 18" electric fan on mine but I always hear about you guys putting a 16" or 14" or something...
I'm glad I have the 18" in this Arizona heat though...

The 16" Procomp fan moves 2750 cfm, I hope that is enough.
