I was thinking two different problems.

1. Crank bolt
2. sunroof star shaped gear thingie

Both needing fixed. Maybe I'm confusing things... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/drunk.gif" alt="" />

Canuck?

I am confusion personified...

Good luck getting your issues fixed. I have issues and I don't think I'll ever find a way to fix 'em... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" />

If you can PM your VIN No. I will get my local stealer to run it through their database for the bolt recall.

Also a pic of the broken part would help, as I have a BIG one not the SWB <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I try the stealer with that also.

Hey Steve, can you run mine too? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/drunk.gif" alt="" /> Just to see if any recalls were done before it left Japan?

No problem Phil, I'll tell them I'm looking at a couple of SWB models that I may buy <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif" alt="" />

I had a quick look tonight (uk time) on the sonroof problem & I can only find motor driven units, the seals may be the same ??

SteveN <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

PS.
Phil, not sure if this helps any but ALL UK spec Shoguns (Mk II's) were fitted with a rear diff lock.....that includes the 2.5 turbo diesels <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

Well I must qualify as a male, my wife said "have you read the manual" <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/butwiggle.gif" alt="" />
Is the the type??

BINGO
That's the one.
Here come the pics. I think I would rather the entire unit because it seems a PITA to align and figure out just this little piece..but..I'll take what I can get.

As far as VIN. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" /> The only one I can find is the new one they put on once imported last month. Basically useless. I can't find the Japanese one anywhere on the vehicle, window pillar included. So I think i am SOL on the VIN idea, but thanks.

I know some of the vins were stamped on the frame. On my old gen1 you can find it on the pass side rear wheel well. Not sure if it was like that on all models.

I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

In the last pic you can see wher ea small tooth is missing, but I don't know if that would make the whole unit not work or if it is something more.

With the piece installed, and pressure applied to the top of the cog ( minus the roof as in pic 2) it will raise as per normal....but instal the roof and the handle just spins.

I dunno. .

Phil, you located your vin?

EDIT:
My rear wheelwell has a " V23-4000179" stamp. Think it's the vin? looks a lil short !
