Anyone know where i can get some nice looking carpet online? Current carpet is crappy and worn out where people plop there feet on <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />. Maybe premolded to fit a montyI SWB? If not im going to the upholstery shop and roll with it from there thanks...

I installed a molded set from Metro - had them make it from loop carpet instead of cut pile.

The price was good, but that's got to be one of the most unsatisfying things I've ever done on a vehicle..... glad I don't do that for a living. If I ever did it again, I'd go straight to a good auto trim shop and write a check.

Frank, did the carpet have any holes for the shifter/center console area pre-cut or did you have to cut them yourself?

Body Damage is Cool
At one time, you could order it from J C Whitney.

Most of the links mentioned above seem to be for 2 door Monty's. I for one have a 4 door and carpet seems considerably more difficult to find.

I also entertained the idea of a carpet change awhile back and did some preliminary checking and found JC Whitney (about 8months ago anyway) had some units and it seems RockAuto has listing available.

At this point you may begin to ask yourself "what doesn't RockAuto have for these things?". Well motor mounts for 1! But that's a different thread...

Anyway, check back with Rock. I think if you click on the "Details" button, it'll pop-up the carpet manufacturers website.

Personally I'd love to find a nice textured vinyl mat to replace the entire carpeted area. Easier to clean for off road and camping - and all that Michigan winter muck.

No precuts for the console area, the forward footwell or the transition over the rear ledge - had to use the old carpet set as a pattern and install snaps. That's what I didn't like.... one mistake and the set is ruined. It's not as hard as I probably make it sound, but it just wasn't much fun trying to work precisely with something so bulky. Also, the fender wheel well covers didn't fit well - had to be slit to fit and glued down. If you have the right tools and a little experience, it's likely routine.

I've had problems with condensation under vinyl.

Thanks Frank - I checked again with metro, and they seem to only offer carpet sets for 2 door.

We poor schmucks with 4 doors need to keep looking...
