I need to assemble the trusty 3.4L to swap on my '94 4Runner and wanted to know what you have to say whether I should use the OEM headbolts or the head studs that lcengineering.com sells. I planned on installing a SC in the near future and perhaps do the URD Fuel Upgrade kit.
Also, does anyone know whether those headstuds are from ARP?
Thanks. -Chard

no idea about what you've got going on there... However I am currently being very serious about swapping out my automatic tranny in my 94 4runner and putting in the 5 speed from my 89 V6. I saw your post in another similar thread and was wondering how the swap went for you. I currently have a blown engine in my ride and need to replace that, but just the number of threads you seem to have posted about the 3.4 swap pretty much puts me right off of that. I need this to run within the month if possible.
I was very much considering buying a rebuilt 3.0 off the net and just doing the tranny swap. Anything you could help me with would be awesome as this will be my first venture of this sort and I'm not sure I'm really ready for what I'm getting myself into. I do have a few knowledgable experienced friends that I plan on helping me through it. Did you use a manual for the operation..?
