I do it every 2-3 yrs, using this, which makes it very easy.

Yeah, I use the same system that 4Crawler has. Don't forget to save the turkey baster for Thanksgiving. Your guests will wonder how you made such tasty gravy <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Don't forget your clutch system, too. I neglected it longer than I should have. No damage to the hydraulics, but the fluid that flushed out was completely black!

Does it tell you how to do that in the FSM? Is it preventative maintenance to change the mechanical parts of this too?

So those fluids aren't supposed to be black?

Any hydraulic system should be flushed every one to two years .

Nope, should be amber/straw colored DOT 3 fluid. Remember this stuff attracts water. That's a ditto on a complete flush about every 1-2 years, depending on your conditions.
