I have a 2001 4runner with 124000 miles. My vsc track, vsc off and engine light came on in Dec. of 2005. Took to dealer, said it was catalytic convert $1300.00. I searched for different options. Went on vacation for 7 days in Jan. and when I got back all lights were off and stayed off until Sept 2006. I will try replacing the gas cap first before doing the catalytic converter. A 2001 4runner has 2 catalytic converts and the back one is the cheaper one. I'll let you know if the gas cap does the trick. Dealer didn't have an explanation as to why the lights stayed off so long.
