I tried this question before but the answers didn't quite fit. One of my 1997 model Sportage keyless remotes doesn't unlock the doors or immobolizer anymore. I would like to know how to get it re-programed with the right code [ it seems to function as the LED lights up as it used to and has a new battery ].
The other problem is that there is supposed to be a 5 digit code writtten on the key for manual bypass [ limp mode ]. This is not written on or inside the key. I tried the code written on the tag with the dealer info but still nothing, even after putting wrong codes 5 times and not getting the 30 second horn alarm. KIA techinfo gave me a dead end when it said to go to the key reprograming section which doesn't exist.
