pretty much, you are going to get a different response from everyone you ask, but im partial to older toyotas (4runner or pickup).

because:
their cheap
their reliable
good fuel economy(my stock 4runner gets just under 25mpg)
plenty of aftermarket support
and they 4wheel very well even completly stock

just my opinion.
