A lot of the headlight choice comes down to whether you want a DOT spec lamp or not. I run the Hellas, they work fine, much better than stock and they are DOT spec. I've run non-DOT lamps before, they were a bit better, but the worries of getting ticketed for running them was not worth the trouble. I did once get pulled over for a burned out headlight and had to end up eating the cost of the fix-it ticket since I could not get it inspected and signed off since I had the non-DOT lamps (in CA, you need to have headlight tickets inspected and signed off at an official headlight inspection station):

The H4s are nice, gives you a wide selection of bulbs and it is easy to carry a spare in the truck. On my VW, I just put in the upgraded harness and found that the existing headlights worked so much better than I opted not to replace them.
