anyone know where I can find a set of brake shims for a 2003 Tacoma DC? I just changed my front brakes this weekend and found the shims to be getting pretty worn. I'll probably need to replace them next time around. Thanks.

you must mean the metal anti squeal shims?
likey a dealer item only
a good set of after market one(pads) will have a shim bonded to the back side of the pads not needing the oem one

The shims came with the new brakes that I got. Just get pads that have the shims included.

yeah, i went to the dealer and asked about them. They were going charge me $46 for the set, which i thought was a little too high. I figured i could get them after market somewhere else a little cheaper. I've been told that the shims that come bonded to the back of the brake pads aren't as affective as the OEM ones that you lube up. Have you guys had any complaints??

I bought mine at VIP for 20 or 30 something I think. With the shims you took an adhesive protector off of it and then put it on the pads. Havent got them on yet but they will be on later this week hopefully, I will let you know.

Mine came with the Brake Pads when I bought them. Do you think they might be in the box?

Nope, not in the box. I went with slightly cheaper front pads that didn't come with the shims. I'm assuming that the more expensive pads come with some sort of replacement shim.
