I believe that you can, it all depends on several legal factors.
I) Your nationality.
II) Where the vehicle is registered.
III) How well you can keep your story straight, and the cars registration paper work.
I) If I am not mistaken, Canadian citizens are able to come to the United States without a visa or permit, but you are not able to work here. Meaning you can travel as far down south to Texas without an impediment. ThatÆs good.
II) Since the car is not technically registered in the United Sates, you are not importing the vehicle here to the USA. Meaning you donÆt have to go through the trouble of trying to import the vehicle to the USA . All I know is that Mexican cars are also free to roam about this country freely . (Not the people , but the cars can.) I would venture to say the same thing about Canadian cars and people. So as long as the car is not registered in the USA, you can drive it here if itÆs registered in Canada. However I am not a lawyer, but I live in the border and see a lot of Mexican registered cars this side of the dry river and as far north as Colorado. I have also seen Canadian cars down here in the Southwest desert.
III) You need to say something that wonÆt incriminate you if you get stopped by the police.
Short answer I think you can, you just have to keep your story straight and paper work (Meaning always have your Canadian driverÆs license with you.)
