Just got a Motor and need info about it #756652 10/10/06 07:47 AM

Hey all. this is my first post on this forum. I am wondering if someone can give me some info on a Isuzu motor i have just bought. all i know about it is the Engine Number "5-075-1B" so far i haven't been able to find anything besides the fact that it is Diesel, has 4 Cylinders, and isn't a turbo. any info that anyone can give would b handy. I know it is a pretty old motor 4 starters. i got it in a Series 3 Landrover. and i am looking at transfering it into my Series 3 Landrover Game Limited Edition. Mainly because the orginal motor is pretty much shot. if anyone else has this motor in there Series 3 Landrover. i would like 2 know how u put it in. because the current way that it is installed into the other one is kinda a bit scrapy. anyway thanx in advance.

Cast into the block, on RH side of engine near the water pump if I remeber rightly will be the engine number. Quite often it's buried under years of crud

Yes thats the engine number, as in serial number, on a small rivited in plate, but what we are all looking for is the engine type, which is cast into the block in raised cast letters. Maybe it is eleswhere on the block?

No i got it from ezactly where u said and it was "5-075-1B". there isn't any silver plate and i have looked all over it. oh one other peice of info that might help is that it is a has an old mecanical stop. no elctronic one. which to me means it is really really old.

Righto. i have finally got some pics to show. so here u go. btw i couldn't get much better angles then that. because the motor is still in another Series 3. like i have already said. also i do have higher quality ones but well i only have dial-up so i shrank them down so they wouldn't take to long to upload or view
