IIRC, distributors out of the Trooper 2.6 were held on with the 2 clips. Distributors out of the Amigo/Pickup/Rodeo 2.6 were held on with the 2 screws. To the best of my knowledge, that was the only difference. I don't believe it was year-wise specific. The only way a Trooper could have a screw on cap, or a Amigo/Pickup/Rodeo a clip on cap, is for someone to have changed the distributor out. That's to the best of my knowledge. I looked into this a bit when I had my 2.6 in my pickup.
