Isuzu assumes a significant portion of the miles are driven offroad through mud, sand, and water. As such, the seals don't keep everything out and the bearing grease needs to be cleaned out and changed. It's not a nightmare by any means.

Going cheap on maintenance can actually cost you much, much more further down the line. What is an hour of labor every 30K miles compared to buying all new bearings at 4X $60 per and maybe other failed components too? And pulling the old bearing races out and driving the new bearing races in is harder labor than simply pulling the bearing cages out to regrease them...

With that philosophy, why bother changing the oil?
