I'm finally tackling this now and a couple of questions:

1. The snap ring that's supposed to be 26 mm is actually 20 mm on my wheel - I'm measuring ID and if that's not right, please let me know - either way it's smaller than specified but seemd to fit, any issue here?

2. Can't yet remove the oil seal so if you have a trick let me know - while trying to pry it, a steel band O-Ring slipped out from underneath it; it was between the oil seal and the inner bearing/race. This does not appear in any of the procedures or manuals - anyone got a clue what this might be? Perhaps it was part of the seal? The new seals I have do not have this.
