AT overdrive problems

Need a Spot

New to the montero and have a question about the AT overdrive. This is on my 89 V6 lwb montero. The overdrive does not like to engage consistantly. Seems to work sometimes if it is warm but not all the time. My freeway drive today it did not kick in at all. The button turns on and off the light, but thats it.

Anyone know what might be going on?
