ôöMODERATORS and OTHERS: couldn't you change the default time to something more realistic, such as 5 years (certainly 1 year at the least). just think about all the "use the search" posts you wouldn't have to ponder about how to say politelyàöö

EDIT ADD: btw, i'm not suggesting MAX dates, but 1 week is worthless imo unless you've been away 1 week and want all posts during that time frame.

EDIT ADD 2: if you all insist on not setting the default to a more realistic time (for whatever good reason you have) may i suggest that you leave it blank like all the other boxes, which will *force* the searcher to enter a date -- and the searcher won't, thus, overlook this.
