Cool. My AAV has never worked either. AAV adds more air when the motor is cold to control the higher idle speed 'till she warms up. Your problem is an easy fix. Clean the back of the butterfly in your throttle body. Check and/or adjust your TPS, then lower your idle a little bit. That will keep your idle RPM's happy. Mine occasionally did the same thing after I came to a stop. Have fun!
