Probably covered before, but my search was fruitless.
What's better? There are two choices as I see them with my budget: Calmini or Independent4x.
The Calmini kit comes with two leaves to add to the spring pack, whereas the Independent4x kit only has one. I imagine that the single spring leaf on the Indy4x kit is stiffer than the double leaves for the Calmini kit...

I'd agree just from "figuring", but I have no real world experience with the Calmini leafs. The Indy leafs were'nt too bad though. I noticed them, but...

I don't have either of your choices.
Third choice ..... I hope Joe Darlinton will still make avail his Springz upgrade. Three leaves that replace the overload leaf. I love them on my 4dr Trooper, hoping to put them on my 89RS Trooper.

I have the Indys and I like them. It made a big difference in stiffness over the stock leaf pack. Easy to install as well. I prob got a solid 3" of lift with add-a-leafs and shackles. I recommend if you want a little lift, a more solid feeling ride or carry any amount of load.

Add a vote here for the Darlington springz upgrade. They flex VERY well, and don't ride harshly at all. They will get you about 2 inches in the rear. Combine them with shackels and get 3 inches for about 200. Well worth it.

Combine them with shackels and get 3 inches for about 200. Well worth it. This is the upgrade kit I want to buy when I go to lift the rear of my 86 Trooper. I've contacted Joe and I hope they are still available to buy. I remember looking at the pictures of the kit on his website and it was nothing but awesome.
