I just feel for it. I keep the car running then hold my hand by the pipe/ muffler / cat, exc.

If the exhaust is cold you can use water and dish soap mix, from a spray bottle. It will make little bubbles from the leaking area when you spray it on. Works well when youÆre looking for air leaks on an air tank too.
