I am so close to being done with my 1988 Trooper II, but there are a few remaining mysteries. First of all, I seem to have a "spare" wire coming out of the end of the fuel injector wiring harness. Here is a picture Photobucket . I also have a loose ground strap at the back of the engine that needs a home, and I cant find where it wants to go. Despite these things we tried to start it up, and it ran for about 20 seconds, then just died. It ran like it was "missing," but the timing looks good. I took the spark plugs out and cylinders 3 and 4 plugs were black and wet. We are having the injectors tested and cleaned, and our wiring looks good according to the shop manual, but if any of you have experienced this or have any ideas, I just might be able to finally finish this project.
