I still think it's the FPR or a leaker injector or a bad check valve in the pump, and it won't fire up until it rebuilds a head of pressure at the injectors, which may be slow if the leak is relatively large compared to pump output. If the pump loses prime, it may take a LONG time, because positive displacement pumps are slow to self prime. Try to relate the severity of the problem to fuel tank level OR, pinch off the return line with some vicegrips before you try to crank it cold..

Sojo, the 89 parts manual I have in .pdf doesn't show that part available at all by itself, just as part of the whole tank part#. Try searching car-part for the whole tank. I come up with a bunch of whole tanks. Should be the same part for 2dr and 4dr, but check pickup depth. Anybody who can check this on caps?
