yeah thats pretty much what i thought about doing i know it'd be possible but i dunno if i'd trust a 4g63 t in this thing it'd be at high rpm's it'd die faster then the stock motor
would be sweet doubt it'd be fast because of the 5 thousandpounds lol then again we'd be boosting at 14 psi stock on it
i hope someone trys this tho

This has been done, not to my knowledge in a montero, but the concepts are the same. I know of an E30 BMW, a few starquests, and a supra, all RWD cars that have 4G63's in them. For all the screwing around, i wouldn't recommend it. Plus, if you turbo the 2.6 in your truck, you'll still have decent low end torque. 4G's have ***** torque.
One interesting thing i noticed at the wreckers today was a 1992 Dodge D50 that had a factory EFI 4G64. THat tranny, t-case and harness is what you'd need for a 4G swap. THe 2.4 makes good torque, and the DOHC 4G63 head will bolt on.
Try DSMtuners.com for more in depth 4G63 vs. 4G64 information.

In japan early model gen 1's came with the 4g63 turbo stock, and no the 4g63 head will not bolt to the g54G engine 2.6 is chain drive and 2.0 and 2.4 are belt for one. If your looking to swap a turbo 2.0 check out http://www.projectzerog.com has ever thing you should need to know about a rwd swap for the 2.0 and even the 2.4

no, you have a g54b in your truck NOT a 4g64.

4G63 head will bolt to a 4g64 (2.4l) block featured in the early nineties pickups. It will not bolt to a G54B, the 2.6 liter engine in your '87 and in the Conquest
