It slings some oil onto my alternator and also onto my lower radiator hose, and generally all over the front of the engine. Really only seems to generate oil when engine is running because after I drive for even a little it will spray enough oil to make a drip or two onto my garage floor. Not major, just enough to make a small drip. Getting the pully off is what makes it hard. Dat's a tight bolt.... Yes it's a common leak point. As is the rear seal. This one is easier. If Mad Max had a 4runner... Pretty straight forward/easy to replace. Gotta take the oil pump off. I don't have an exact figure, but I definitely use 2 quarts per 3000 miles, I have to add oil regularly. I burn about a half a quart every 3k. Most of what you are losing is from the seal. If Mad Max had a 4runner...
