Need a Spot
Hello Friends.
I have a 1995 montero SR 6G74 engine 3.5L V6 24 valve DOHC and have idle speed problems when engine is cold(The engine goes off). I changed the Idle speed control valve because both wire magnets of the control motor of this valve where burned so I bought a new one and installed it. First It work well but once the engine was hot and shut it down and restarted it 30 minutes later the idle speed stayed at 2000 rpm even when the engine was at it?s working temperature. Is there anybody who can help me out with this problem?

Check inside the ECU, When the ISC motor goes it generally takes out the drivers on the circuit board.

Cheers, Charlie

I just sent you a major PM on this, but also agree with the other two posts, check the inside of the throttle for deposits and prepare for a messed up ECU if any of the info I sent you doesn't pan out. Final stage driver failure is a known problem with our ECUs.

Check you ECT sensor. My 94LS Had trouble starting and High Idle once it gets to normal temp. Try a 400 ohm resister to see if it helps. If it does than replace the ECT. My ECT resistance jump to 80K ohm when it was suppose to be 330 Ohms ant normal temp. To my knowlege the ECT reading will dircectly reflect the ide control.
