My question was how do I get the base out of the fender? Is it that kind of plastic castle nut on under the whip? Could it be some kind of nut on the inside of the fender?

My question was how do I get the base out of the fender? Is it that kind of plastic castle nut on under the whip? Could it be some kind of nut on the inside of the fender? Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner! That's it there is a notch in the hole of the fender that the tower sticks through to hold it in place. Try a pair of vice grips or pliers, cover the teeth with something so you don't gouge the plastic nut, ask me how I know

Thanks for the tip and I had a feeling that is what it was but I always think it is safe to ask before I tear stuff apart.
