Noticed the sagging rear springs we pulled out of the XJ had "Made in Mexico" painted on them. If my truck was assembled in Mexico I'd have to say they did a good job, everything was torqued to spec and marked with yellow paint. Not a single stripped nut or screw, no rattes, all tight. Fit and finish is great.

We've been using Mexicos cheap labor on US soil for hundereds of years, why care when we do exactly the same thing on thier turf?

I work for a US manufacturing company, we have 500+ factory workers in Seattle alone. We also outsource when it's needed. We have a factory in Dublin that has a much lower overhead than ours. Smaller granted but lower cost of living, carpooling and lower insurance and wages all contribute.

Am I worried we'll all lose our jobs and send the whole operation overseas? No.
Is it possible? Sure.
Would the customer know or even care? Probobly not.

I guess my point is, I'd buy all US made goods if I could but it's simply impossible with the way I live.

The only thing even close to me US made is my Chippewa boots and the hardwood floor under them.
