Chris, ten seconds of running sounds kinda long for an alternator problem, but Richard's advice to check the alternator was good. Which alt did you use ? and are they the same ? You got the wire hooked up to the " L " terminal on the alt OK ?

What do the dash lights do when you start it ?

I guess you found the temp sensor you were looking for ?
