Great info Scerb, this gave me the confidence to give the rebuild a try, I've torn it apart and cleaned it, starting reassembly today.

One question though, my truck was occasionally dieseling, so I figured the idle cut solenoid was bad. Got a new one, replaced it and now the truck would not idle. Just died every time I let off the accelerator. I noticed the old solenoid did not have that little rubber o-ring on the tip of it, put the old solenoid back in, and still wouldn't idle. So I disconnected the solenoid and STILL would not idle. It was time for a rebuild anyway, so I tore the whole thing apart thinking maybe something was jammed up in the hole where the solenoid goes, but nothing in there. Any thoughts?

Again, great carb info, thanks!

The solenoid is only open when there is voltage to it, so disconnecting it wouldn't help. Look for a wiring problem. I know I've forgotten to plug mine back in a couple times when working on my carb.

Perfect, I'll check that there is voltage with the ignition ON then once I get it all back together, thanks.
