Nope. Haven't figured it out. I replaced plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Sound still sounds like it's coming from injection system (underneath the intake manifold).

Well, I think I may have a thought or two. When I start up in the morning there is NO ticking, Only when the engine seems to warm up or I drive it for awhile. Also it stops and starts ticking throughout the day, cant really see a pattern. Could this possibly be a valve sticking? Other than that, I changed oil with Mobil 1 Full synthetic 0W40 and it seems to do it less then running 10W40, so my second thought is possibly the oil pump. Any other Ideas? Thanks

Also, I use a screwdriver to listen and pinpoint the noise. It is greatly present in the two fuel injection pipes that run under the throttle body/intake manifold...for whatever that's worth.

OK, I have thoroughly looked at everything and also spoke with a friend who is a mechanic. Yes, it has got to be an injector problem or something. I will know next week when I take it in to the shop. I need valve cover gaskets anyway. This sound is "Ticking" me off!

OK well I have some more info for ya. I was thinking that if it is an injector ticking, that if I unplug each one (took me awhile due to the fact that I had to pull the throttle body off, unplug each injector, one at a time, on the drivers side, then reinstall the throttle body) and start up again then maybe I could pinpoint which injector was ticking and replace it. Well I did and again still the ticking. Also, can You here the ticking from under the truck as well? Seems like I can. I did look closely but did not see an exhaust leak. So looks like I have to take it to the shop after all... What is really confusing me is that it Does Not tick in the morning or when it is cold???? Was trying to save some $$$ <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Now I think it actually IS a valve. I was told these vavles are hydrolic (no adjustments needed). Today I saw valve adjustment clearances on the engine spec sticker under the hood. I'm gonna adjust them this weekend and it will probably go away.

IS agjusting valves complicated? Also, Would that explain why mine seems to be getting a little louder? Do these motors have lifters? I know if I take it in im gonna be hit with some serious $$$, hard to find a good mechanic =(

Well I hope you get'er fixed - let me know
