More Hurricane pics. You never see anything about it on the news or anywhere anymore. These pics were taken in St. Bernard Parish. These are of the neighborhoods. Some businesses are back up and running, a lot of places are operating out of trailers. There are a lot of houses that have not been touched, and a lot that have been gutted. There are a few that are even rebuilt and people living in them. A few places in New Orleans there is a huge problem with theft of anything in houses being rebuilt. They will steal anything, nails, wood, light fixtures, doors, door knobs, anything they can get their hands on. House that has not been touced. What the inside of a house looks like. Gutted house. The shrimp boat I took pics of last year. It has been partially burned. This one speaks for itself. In ground pool. If you remember that Jesus picture in my grandmothers house, this is the hallway. This is what most houses look like. ![[Linked Image]](http://webpages.charter.net/sparkem2001/hall%20way.JPG)
I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

People often forget how much there is still left to do down there. And yeah the media has lost interest in the aftermath of Katrina, unless it involves something political with the governor. And I have to agree about the pool thing, thats just amazing.

I'm surprised the van hasn't been stripped. Roofrack, anyone?

I hear the St. B sheriff office has really cracked down on theft. The few people who are back watch out for their neighbors. A lot of that stuff is rusty, you dont want it. Would you climb on that van?

Thanks for keeping us on track. Am shooting to go down there in another year and a half, so I can afford to be away from here for a little bit. Gonna be awhile. I shipped a pallet of birdhouses down there for some habitat rehab; a small thing, but it was something I could afford to do.
Yep, the sign says it all; hope it touches a conscience or five.
