Well, I decided I better get in there and see what's going on, not because there were any symptoms, but because I like to see if/how things work...

I moved a few hoses, and the EGR valve easily came off with four bolts. It had a nice coating of carbon, but opens and closes just fine. Its currently sitting in a container, and full of carb cleaner, since I had it out of there. Certainly was nice to work on something at the top of the engine compartment for a change...it will be reinstalled this morning.

Also did my third oil/filter change while I was in there... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> Second run of Rotella full synthetic.
