I was just wondering if this was some kind of modification that the previous owner did, because I have yet to see any other Trooper with a light that does this. When I step on the brake, it blinks for 5 seconds, then stays solid. I know this is not an important question, but I'm just curious. If it's a mod, I would like to do it to another car. If not, I wonder why mine has it and I never see it on any other of the many Troopers that I might be behind.

Yes, it's an aftermarket device that you can put on.
They are very popular for motorcyclists.

They make a device that you can attach to the wiring itself
and they also make bulbs that have the flasher unit built in
to the base (bulb swap only, no wiring).

If someone doesn't post a link for one before hand, I'll
post a link to one for you. I'll have to look in the
catalog to see who has one.

The blinking thing is not a factory option, but I have seen it on some VXs. I was told it is an aftermarket item.
