I'm looking for an adapter for a q-jet carb to a squarebore manifold with seperate primaries and secondaries. Anyone know where to find one? I've been looking for a while now and am having NO luck. I might have to get one made.

Well, I happened on the unfortunate luck of Offenhauser deciding to stop making spread bore dual plane intakes. So I got stuck with a square bore and I need to adapt.

try summit racing,or jegs. they have all sorts of adapters and such. if that fails see if you can find the intake you want on ebay,or the craigslist.(dang starting to sound like BJ)Another option is to hit the junkyards and look at anything with the 360 in it,you may get lucky.I am not sure but i was told the amc 360 was a chrysler engine so you may be able to find one on any older dodge that will fit.if i am wrong about that im sure someone in here will know and tell you

Well that is why I asked.. What you need is a simple OPEN adapter. NOT one with seperate small and large opening as I thought you adked for.
In the past that adapter has been very common. Surely you can find one that is "spread bore to square bore" I betcha I have used lots of those.
The quadrajet is a far better carb to use than the holley types for everyday driving. One thing about putting them on a Jeep is that they will last longer when parked than the damn holley types do. Gimme a good spreadbore anytime over a holley for the street.

Why an open center? With a dual plane wouldn't I want to keep the planes seperate even on the adapter?

Ok then slapa Holley on it... But I think you would be happier a year from now with an open adapter and the Quad on there.

i have seen both adapters in summet and jegs. like BJ said the quadrajet is far better than holley. that is all that i ever ran on my gm's 1 because that is what they came with, and 2 even though i had the intake and holley i chose to stick with the qjet due to reliability. i have burned many cars with the holley in my monte carlo with the quadra jet.chrysler, and gm both used quadra jets for many many years. im willing to bet you will find the intake you need on an old jeep with a 360.

I've already got the q-jet and the intake, I'm just wondering if it's necessary to use a closed center adapter to keep the planes seperate, or if an open center is fine.

Those dual plane manifolds have been around for a loooong time. I never saw much use for them. Seems if they did ANY help at all one of the factory vehicles would have installed something like em.
