Thanks for the info here everyone. At least this gives him a place to start.

He's going to the junkyard in the morning to look at other trucks to see if he can find the marks. I have to work so I won't be able to go with him...

Some of the info above seems to contradict a little...

Are the degree marks on the drivers side or the passengers side?
