Kary told me he was having some sort of problems with his pump either whining, or overheating. I don't remember exactly what it was....... lemme go dig through my PMs and see.
I hope Kary does not mind.... doubt he would...

BigBlue My PS will whine a little when off-road, but I never loose assist or anything like that, and I have lost maybe 3oz. of fluid in the last 25K miles. I Will build a larger resivoiur for mine eventually, as the astro tank is kinda small, but it works fine for now. My reason for the larger tank is that I'm now going to a larger displacement pump to run my winch. The Milemarker is rated with a 3.5GPM pump, and there is a late chev pump on the diesels, and 3/4 ton trucks that is the "P" style, but puts out 3.5 to 3.9GPM. This should help with line speed on the milemarker, but we are talking FLOW....... and the larger tank may be a must do, we'll just have to see.

SO says Dr K. and He'd know.... I don't know why mine overheated so badly. BUT it sure did. GM steering pump, on a Stock mitsu box, and it was very very VERY unhappy. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

The GM box install was a serious undertaking, and I only did it because the Mitsu box was not going to work good with my SAS. I have no idea how well it would hook up to the sotck mitsu IFS. I fabbed a mount up on the framerail with 1/4 plate steel to bolt the box on, and reinforced the hell out of it.
