This is a a switch that is activted and deactivated through water temp. It is what controls the vacuum to suck from the charcoal canister or not. If it is broken and opens it would definately effect your idle. The top goes to your canister and the bottom connects to the air intake. 2014 FJ Re: Can you identify this part??? Rather than snap it off I just bypassed it. I ran the hose from the charcoal canister past the valve and to the metal fitting on the other side. No porblems at all. Same fuel mileage.
