Here's my deal. I'm having a problem above 180 degrees the hotter my engine gets the worse my idle gets till the temp reaches 210/220 and then it dies.
(aka suprathepeg, aka Sean) 89 v6 SWB truck "BLACK BEAUTY" EB valves, P&P head 30 over. 95 FZJ80. Lifted. locked and rollin on 33s (my dream machine)

Just remove the plenum. I broke mine during the rebuild somehow also. This is a a switch that is activted and deactivated through water temp. It is what controls the vacuum to suck from the charcoal canister or not. If it is broken and opens it would definately effect your idle. The top goes to your canister and the bottom connects to the air intake.

I found mine was broken one day, I went to remove it, but it would not budge. Rather than snap it off I just bypassed it. I ran the hose from the charcoal canister past the valve and to the metal fitting on the other side. No porblems at all. Same fuel mileage.
