Finally got around to looking this over, and here's what I've found:

Japan CAPS and Morth American CAPS show no difference between 92 Montero SR and 91 Pajero V24wg-XRII (that's the shorty). Everything is showing the same: I mean everything, from pads, right down to clips, etc, front and rear: I'm showing front pads - MR389526, rear pads - MR389571.

I'm going to do some digging next week and see what's available, and will add it to the Cross-Reference List at the top of this forum if my parts are a match. But so far, its looking promising!

Pulled my rear pads this morning, they were worn down to the indicators, but sliders and all else incl handbrake "shoes" looks great!

Just got off the phone with my local parts guy, and he found a Raybestos ceramic pad that "looks" (according to the pic he faxed) to be identical... I'll get it tomorrow. If its the one, I'll post the number. FYI, I used the 92 Montero numbers to cross it over to North American specs for him.

Fingers crossed.

Body Damage is Cool
I was looking on my buddies online-catalogue at his shop a while ago and there is a HUGE selection of brake pads for our rigs. (if LWB and SWB take the same that is) I cross referenced the application guide and the front pads are the same as a GEN 2 talon turbo. so we can get AKIBONO or PBR Metal masters or whatever you want. I would expect that HAWK even makes pads.

Done. Success. Since this post started as a front brake q, I'll add my part numbers to the sticky part numbers post at the top of this forum.

While I assume "success" means the pads fit it is not clear that the front pads described have been installed on a truck yet. I have ordered Raybestos ceramics for front 92 Montero for pickup Jan 10 - will update post after installation.

Yes, the rears fit. The fronts for a 92 Montero cross-ref so you should be good to go... keep us updated!

NO LUCK - the Raybestos part listed for the front brakes on a 1992 Montero are PGD530C and these definitely are NOT the right pads.

I bought some front pads for a 1991 Montero and they perfectly overlay the outlines of the pads I made. Actual installation pending. Perhaps this is a SWB or early model issue. (Mine was made March 1991).

SUCCESS - I used some el-cheapo pads from AutoValue because that was what they had in stock. They are listed as front pads for a 1991 Montero. If you measure your front pads as 128mm long then it would seem the 1991 North American Montero pads will fit.

Thanks a LOT for the followup. That will save some of us some headaches.

So, that gives us success for front and back brake pads on the 91 V24WG. I can only assume that the lwb is the same, but probably better not assume, till someone tries it.

Thanks again bud. Maybe you can add it to the stickied parts cross ref at the top.
