Well if there is play in the pinion and the nut isn't loose then its a good bet that the bearing is toast. Now if you haven't driven too much on it like this the gears may be salvageable. If you pooch the gears then your deffinately looking at a new pumpkin and probably soon with all that play.

What kind of gears are you running now? What kind to tires and what tires do you want to run? If your looking for better tire to gear ration with bigger tires then maybe this is an opertunity to upgradem, andof course add a locker.
