There's play in the pinion with the nut tight and the pinion is very, very loose with the flange off.

I'm running near stock size tires (235x70x15) and stock gears. This is a daily driver truck and I have no plans to turn it into a rock crawler. It did have 31x10.5x15's on it when I bought it. It had those on it for 20k miles or more so I'm sure that didn't help the truck any.

How do I determine if it's only the pinion bearing that's bad? How do I replace the pinion bearing?
