I am running a high pinion D-44 up front & a D-60 in the rear with 2 1/2 reverse backspaced wheels. It is a tight squeze on todays Jeep trails, but very stable on off camber sections.

My front spring hanger was tacked on, so I hung the springs to see where the shackle end met the frame. Both springs appear to be shifted to one side by about 1.5-2". I swapped the springs side for side, then end for end and they still are off the same direction. I cut the tack welds and moved the xmember/hangers and that improved it but....it still took a bit of a pull to get the springs were they should be. I took off the hanger and made some crude measurements after clamping the x-member to the plate. I was just looking for the difference between the two holes in each hanger, to see if the hanger was rotated. The difference in the holes on one side was .010" (which is meaningless), but the other side was at least .080" which could account for what I was seeing. A replacement is in the works from Front Range (unfortunately they didn't have another in stock, so it has to be made), but it won't be here for this weekend

FROR said they will be checking the alignment on all future ones with a rod through both hangers because their jig only locates from one hole in each hanger.

A couple of questions, I might be able to help ya along here.

1} I see you are going with the reverse shackle = how long are the springs you are using?

2} What front axle are ya gunna use?

3} have you allreddy planned out the rear mounts?

Reasons for these ??? is that on mine, the tranny X-Member had to be cut & reinforced for front D-Line clearance. The rear shackles hit the X-Member under hard stuff.

I think you are on the right track = just wanted to give you a heads up on what ya might not wanna do in advance. I can post up some pics of what was done to mine so ya don't do the same & save ya some headache.

Yeah i think no matter what the tranny crossmember has to be notched since it's a pretty tight fit. Otherwise when that axle moves up it's gonna smack right into it. A crawl box or second t-case may move the driveshaft back enough.

Thanks guys, your're 100% correct...it will hit the factory tranny mount, so I'm using a Front Range crossmember

And here's one of their photos

So I've been procrastinating, but I finally got the Spring Hanger from Front Range and made some frame mounting brackets for the shackle hangers and got that stuff tacked up. Next is setting the caster/spring perches before fully welding this stuff. Unfortunately it'll be a few days before I can work on it again. 'Tis the season for limited time in the garage. Of well, here's the latest pic

Looks awesome. Real clean looking, workwise and in general.

Looks real good Mark. FYI when you have your front D-Line made, it is very important that it is not too long. With the shackle reversal set up, when the lt front is at full compression it will move the axle backwards quite a bit. If the driveline is too long there is a chance of breaking the T-Case in half. On the same note if it is too short when the lt front is at full droop it can seperate, this can mostly be just a pain but there is also a chance of the spinning portions of the D-Line smacking into the oil pan or other parts.

Some good warnings in your post for sure! I do remember reading about one t-case be smashed after someone jumped their truck <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
