I have a solid front axle truck (not sure what you have), but if you are having trouble getting clearance to remove the pan, you could probably unbolt the engine from the mounts (or the mounts from the frame, lift the engine with a hoist (it will lift a few inches with engine still attached to transmission), and maybe have enough room to pull the pan??? Someone else chime in if I'm wrong...

Sounds like you missed that oil galley plug... same one that caught me...
